I had a feeling if it was different it would sound like this, because it sounds similar to the AWE system - which I don't like.

Having just watched Cajun's Meister exhaust video, I'm inclined to say I prefer the sound of the AWE. This is obviously based on limited information taken from the videos only (looking forward to hearing Cajun's comparison soon), but that's my first take.

Agreed. While I wouldn't mind if the 450 was deeper or throatier (did I just type that?) the 43 'farts' too much. I walked away from the Audi TTS principally because the exhaust sounded like a bad sound effect from a Porky's remake.

Based on the pics I have see , it is not a true dual. I looks like a prettier version of the stock exhaust underneath. The AWE and c63 exhaust (and most likely the upcoming c43) has a true dual from the cats back with an x pipe in the middle.

not sure if I'm crazy but the deep growl of the 63 blows the 43 away.
It also turns the upshift fart into a burp, sounding much more natural and less intrusive

43 sounds horrible, IMO. If it was me ordering, I would definitely have to listen to it in person before putting any money down.

That said, everyone has their own preferences. People were complaining the C450 would drive them nuts...so the C300 sound was best for them. It's all relative.
To me, the C450 sounds pretty good, the C43 Coupe sounds outstanding (don't know what the sedan sounds like), and the C63 sounds absolutely unreal. I would say that the 450 and the 2 others sounds are in a league outside of the 450, especially considering the 450 can't turn it off when they don't want to hear that ****.

I never said I prefer a 43 over 63. I just said the 43 sounds good for what it is. Who in their right might would prefer the sound of a 43 vs a 63?

Ok, someone take a crack at this. Why does the C450 in a Burmester have an AMG branded audio amp if it's not feeding synthetic engine sounds into the cabin?

In a separate thread, an audio schematic on a 450 showed leads going out to an "Engine Sound Control Unit". Put em together...sure looks like a system to synthetically augment the engine sound through the cabin speakers.

There is some feeding of engine sound into the cabin. But it's not like BMW which plays a sound file it's actually engine noise being routed into the cabin if I recall correctly.
