Any young Aussies here? Insurance?

Hi guys,

24yo trying to get insurance for a new C200 here and quotes are coming in pretty expensive! Just wondering if there are young Aussies here who could advise who they found to be the cheapest and best insurer?

Cheers!

Just out of curiosity what did your quote(s) come in at?

I think you're going to have a hard time finding 'cheap' insurance.

Insurance for Benz are not cheap. In my early 20s it would be around $3k.

When you hit 25 and then 30 it becomes cheaper.

Where you live and your driving history will also impact the price, but ultimately before you buy a Benz you should know that insurance and servicing will be expensive.

MB insurance is 1250 for me, 1500 excess. including wind screen protection. It's worth the money since u get genuine parts guarantee.

Had a windscreen chip that couldnt be repaired recently, which turned into a brand new replacement.

For me, MB insurance was something like $4,000

Yep, I knew what I was up for when I bought it, I'm just comparing them now to see what is the best deal I can get.

I've done about 10 quotes now! The highest was about $4,600. At the moment, Just Car Insurance is around $1500 which is by far the cheapest. The excess is slightly higher than others, but I don't plan on having to pay it!

Cheers

Don't use MB Insurance. It's underwritten by QBE who are terrible. Outsourced foreign call centre with 40+ minute waits at night.

They used to be Allianz who were better, but I will never used them again after the frustration I had last year.

Recently I had to replace the windscreen, the QBE guys were hopeless and insisted that I wasnt entitled to an original Mercedes part.

Had to go through the Mercedes autobody to get it all sorted. Thankfully the autobody mob was more than helpful.
