When should the first oil change happen?
I've bought my car brand new and it's around 1500 km(not miles), which is the MB break-in period(correct me if I'm wrong?)
When should I do my first oil change? I've read that some people like to do it right after break-in to clear out any excess junk etc.
Thanks

Official line if at OCI....
And thats fine.
For those with a technical bent, correct answer might be following a UOA which indicated something of concern.. that may be earlier or later than OC, but later will in theory challenge the warranty...

oh and i get oil analysis for free through my job... so it was interesting to see..
For me personally, I ran mine to 10k kms (7 months) then following a UOA changed it out.
I did the same on the wifes new GLA 250 (same engine).
Reason was in the wifes car there was a little more fuel in the oil than i wanted (likely from many short journeys and the DI).
For mine its run in period was an unknown to me (bought with 3k kms on it), so I wanted peace of mind..
The standard OCI followed on mine, and will on the wifes in Oct and i will only continue to do mid interval oil only changes in the wifes due to the short cycle useage and fuel dilution characteristic..
For 60$ aud a year additional its bugger all really.. (I have an oil vac so its a 10minute job....)
