Yesterday i got my AWE Exhaust installed with Weistec downpipe on 2015 c300 in Corona LA i had no engine check light when i started the car up so i drove 40+ miles to Huntington Beach to re-tune the ECU by OE tuning ( Benzworks ) Rocco took out the ECU to tune it. 40 mins later he came out and told me his computer got fried and hes unable to tune my ecu ( bummer i drove hour + to get the ecu done ). So i said ok **** happens he installed the ECU back in and i was on my way home. 5 miles down the road i got engine check light on.

Now I'm bit nervous that there might have been some sort of mishap and my ecu's got exchanged or fried? Is there anyway to compare ECU SN# to cars VIN #? just so i can make sure it's my ECU. i haven't checked the code yet to see what the error is.

 

How come you didn't just turn back around when the CEL came on? I'm sure BenzWorks has the tools on hand to check CEL codes. Have you called BenzWorks?

 

No i didn't call them yet. I should've went back but I was already into LA traffic and wanted to get home

 

I say start there first. Is the CEL still on?

 

Yea still on. Weistec did say that CEL light will be on after installing downpipe. Spoke to Rocco just now he said it's not related to what he did and downpipe will turn on CEL light.

is there anyway to compare and see if ECU he put back in was mine?

It's the downpipe for sure.

Let me know what you think of the downpipe. I'm planning on getting one too along with the OE Tune.

 

So I came across some other threads and they mentioned that the ecu is coded to your exhaust vehicle. So you can't just pop in a ecu from another car and start it up. This is why for ecu reflashing, you have to send in your ecu rather them sending you an ecu for you to use and you send them your old one.

 

Ahh make sense.

car sounds Insane with downpipe. i can feel turbo kick in more faster then before the crackle are now loud on shifts. you can feel the down / up shifts in S+ mode.

I might get rid of my downpipe soon if you looking to get one wait for mine :-) ill give ya a good deal.

 

Let me know if you want to sell it. I'll be in socal late sept-oct.

Otherwise I will just head over to weistec and get it from them along with their ecu tune.
