Yeah, it's definitely the aluminium. I guess that's the way most cars are going to be in the future, due to fuel efficiency requirements, but I don't have to like it. It doesn't feel like a true luxury car when the doors make the same sound as a Corolla.

For those inclined;
I added Dynamat to the outer door skin inner face to compliment the small patch applied from the factory. (perhaps 500mm square in all per door).
A noticable drop in tone and hence improvement in perception of the doors solidity from that....
Takes about an hour per door to do mat, MLV foam and low density matting.
Just dynamat perhaps 40 mins a door (first one will take longer)....
