light sensor question

Have a new C450. Can someone tell me where the light sensor is located which determines whether the daytime running lights go on.

You mean the headlights (i.e. low beam) or the actual DRL strip? Here the DRL is permanently on - it just dims when the main lights or indicator comes on.

In any case, the light sensor for the headlights is an integrated module top of the windshield (facing out from behind the rear-view mirror).

I turn off my DRLs. Car looks "manlier" or meaner without them in the daytime.

However, it has been proven that running with DRLs on improves visibility and safety. Not to mention that most (if not all) insurance companies offer discounts for those using daytime running lights. So, manly vs. safer....
