Car unlocking itself in the wet/rain?
so I have keyless entry. Today while stood by the locked car it just unlocked itself. Car was wet/mild rain/drizzle. Wondering if the touch sensors on the handles could have been fooled by the conductivity of them being wet.
Thats pretty worrying.

Ill put put it down to a one off... but I know water affects them as if I have the key on me when washing the car, the hose on the handles makes the car repeatedly lock and unlock.

The good news is, the doors won't unlock unless the key is in the near vicinity of the car. So no worries about rain making it unlock while you are away from the vehicle.

Not sure about a drizzle but when washing our cars, they constantly lock/unlock themselves.
There is nothing unusual about it. You have to be within a few feet though.
All keyless go MB's have done that for the last 15 years or so...

If you double lock the car on the key fob the door sensor are disabled and it won't cycle the door locks when washing for example..

disabling the key fob
double pressing the key fob lock button quickly turns off the keyfob.
The key fob will blink twice with the last red blink on longer.
To reactivate, press any button on the key fob.
I did this on my spare key to save the battery and do it before washing the car.

so if I double press the key when I park for the night it will shut off the key fob, preserving battery life, then the keyless open feature won't work in the morning, i.e. I need to open it by pushing the button?

Ok so I think this is definitely a bigger issue. I've had no stop start for a while, then I get this unlocking thing and now I've just gone out to the car to find the boot wide open (estate). The boot was closed when I took the dogs out for a walk earlier and the car keys have been stored since I got home.
