Diamond Grill Install
Just thought i'd update you on my success yesterday, I managed to install my gloss black diamond grill on my polar white AMG Line C220. Delighted with how it looks, really transforms the look of the front end. Install took me about an hour and a half, I really took my time to make sure I didn't damage anything when removing the bumper. The hardest part of the install was removing the original grill, that thing is clipped into the bumper so tight!
Did you lifted the car on a stand or is it possible to remove the bumper as it is?
Did you disconnected the battery, and if so,anything got reseted?
Can you only do it one person or need help to remove the bumper and put back?
How difficult is to snap the new one in place?
Thanks.
Didn't bother disconnecting the battery, didn't have to reset anything or got any warning lights.
I did it by myself, it's definitely possible to complete the task just on your own. Just be careful and take your time
The new one is a little bit tough to get into place, you just have to use a lot of force to clip the grill into the aperture
Once you've done this, remove the two T30 Bolts at the front of the engine compartment, then remove the 3 T25 bolts at the front too. Once they've been removed you need to pop off the extension rivets holding on the plastic piece on at the front of the engine compartment.
Finally there was one 8mm bolt underneath the bumper in the middle at the front that I had to remove. Once these have all been removed you can slide the bumper out.
