Bought my first MB this month - C400!
So after months of searching on and off, considering everything from a Ram (I was driving a Honda Ridgeline), to TL, TLX, E class (350 / 550), A6...I stumbled onto the new C class on a Wedensday night, and took title on the following Saturday!
Found it at a non-MB dealer, so no certified warranty or free maintenance, but helped keep the price down.
So far, I'm loving it. I can't believe the power in this thing...and happy to know that if needed, I can add more power easily.
The dealer replaced the oem tires with some Coopers...the stagger is correct, but they are not run flats. I didn't realize until after the purchase, but searching the forum, seems I'm better off without the run flats. I added a slime kit tonight to the trunk.
I will be headed to the local MB dealer soon...two of my door handle LEDs are out, and appears the intermittent wiper settings aren't working. Hopefully all covered under standard warranty.
I really thought I'd like the 2014 A6 3.0T, but the one I drove was beat...and the car didn't have any passion. The 2014 E350 was nice, but at 302hp and not much room to mod...I lost interest. Drove a 2014 E550...it was loaded and awesome, but price and miles were a bit high.
Landing this C400 seems to be a perfect match...refreshed body style inside and out, tons of power from a V6, all wheel drive and most of the goodies I want standard. Once I saw the pics of this C400, I knew it could be the one.
I see a rear wing / lip and maybe luminated star in my near future...

Nice. If I could have leased one new the C400 would have been my first choice. Hey, ask the dealer if they offer a 3rd party warranty. Easycare is a reliable one. Or go refi the car at your credit union...they'll also package an extend warranty into the loan.
I've owned three Mercedes plus the C. All were either CPO or Easycare, and I made money on every one of them vs the cost of the coverage. $21,000 in covered repairs on a CPO S500, $12,000 on an S430 on Easycare, and around that much again on a CPO S550.
Coverage is cheapest when Mike are low and the model year is recent.

Yeah, granted those are S Class, and the cars were north of 50k miles when all the fun started, but all MB's rely on a lot of specialty parts not available aftermarket and incredibly expensive. I just try to keep the car under some kind of warranty for at least the length of the financing. If you bought your car from an Mb dealer you can, at any point before the original 4/48 factory warranty ends, buy an Extended Limited Warranty (which is the same coverage a CPO car gets.) You can buy that warranty from any MB dealer and some discount the plans.

Thanks Mike, good to know...I'll inquire when I'm at the dealer for my few routine items. Thanks!

Buy as much as they'll sell you. I think it's two years for $2400 or three for $4400. They are always limited by time, rather than miles. Take the three years. If you sell or trade the car, the unused premium is returned to you, regardless of what they paid out in claims. My last service on the S550 was $6,000 alone but they still refunded me $1200 when I traded the car six months before the warranty expired.
