I watched a YouTube video about the design of the 7G+ and it stated engineers had worked on it for over three years! What an earth were they doing all that time, just turning up for work on a Friday?

2015 c300
I have been having the same issue on my 2015 C300 when the car downshifts from 5th to 4th. There is a big jolt. They adjusted the shift points 3 months ago and it was smooth. And it recently started happening again. I left the car at the dealership and the tech took the car home to see if he could recreate it on a longer ride. Well, what do you think he said? Could not recreate it. Then when I left the dealership it was doing it all the way back home. The service rep just shrugged and said he didn't know how to fix it if they can't feel what i'm feeling. I am at my wits end! I don't know what else to do. It is still under warranty but what do I do when it's not? Who can I speak to? Someone out there must have the answer. I am seriously considering getting rid of the car but I like it and want to enjoy it. Thanks

Dropped off car last Friday, service rep called and said we need to keep the car but because of the holiday they were closed for 3 days. I got a call yesterday and of course the krauts says zory butz itz dezigned to do thatz. Actually the loaner was also a c300 and its rough as **** from when it shifts from 2-3. They need to install a real tranny on these machines. My 15 accord v6 had a bad downshift issue its like grinding so I got rid of it only to find out c300 has some tranny issue. Better luck next time mates!

I'm suppose to drive around with the head kraut but I'm too busy to deal with this crap right now. Maybe next time I'll ask the real head kraut to drive my car. Oh and service rep says no patch available from the fatherland. My c300 apparently was built in the South (AL) maybe they needed Oktoberfest while building these cars.

Really disappointed!

I had this issue for a couple thousand KMs and it suddenly disappeared when the weather became warmer. I have friends reporting it only happens when it gets colder.

Oddly mine doesn't seem affected by weather/temps... its worst when the car is started and after the first few shifts starts to improve. Its still pretty poor though for a modern car. Makes me wonder if there's a trans fluid supply / pump issue.

They are pissing on your leg. The patch is written for YOUR car.

I can attest that shifting is smoother when the weather's warmer and more so when the car's been out in the sun for a while. Which leads me to believe this has also to do with tranny fluid thermodynamics.

THIS CAR sucks.

Plus I'm thinking these hard shifts must take a toll on the tranny and cause premature wear.

How do we create a poll here? I want to see how many folks have this problem and get it to MB. Perhaps class action for potential premature wear and deceptive marketing (7g was advertised as smooth shifting, demo vehicles do not exhibit this behavior).

Really frustrating to drive a car this way. 2000 corolla (son driving this now (275k miles), 07 Camry (142k miles), 09 Pilot (137k miles) none of them exhibits any tranny problem. But then again, these cars have real tranny. I agree with the formal complaint to MB.

Let's do it. Any lawyers around here? To eventually prove grounds of malfeasance and deceptive practices from dealer to Germany. $$$

Are the scandinavian countries MB owners not having this issue?

Does this only happen to C's made in the South?

THIS CAR sucks.
the car isn't that bad.. it's the transmission that's from the 1920's. I agree on the trans fluid.

class action will be unlikely to help me in the UK but go for it!

So I suppose no poll. Consensus is hard shifts are livable?

Non sequitur maybe. I was in Copenhagen in March. W205 and W213 taxis abound. To denigrate my experience even further with the fact that MBs were the de facto public transportation, a number of them were also 2017 9Gs. I will tell you all of those 9 gear boxes continue to have episodes of jerky shifts but I will say however that the shift points were more "polished". YET STILL NOTICIBLY JERKY. I mean if "polished" jerkniess from an MB is your thing. AND FYI, wind intrusion, COMMAND, dash, and headliner rattles DO continue to exist at various levels in European 2017s.

I don't know how to say this. To the smart man who is prudent with his dollars, stay away from MB. I had actually thought they improved with my 2012 W212...

Did you check the agility mode they were in? And in what degree is the jerky your personal opinion?

While i think thats irrelevant, these were all taxis in a city stop and go setting I.e. Copenhagen so they would have been in eco or comfort. I did not feel longer revs as you would in Sport or Sport + also.l. Also all diesels. Hope that answers that all.

But point is, to defend jerky shifts at any thottle mode as a "sporty" feature is mostly a lazy excuse for what I'm pretty sure is a defective tranny. Don't get me wrong, I would still like to "feel" the shift points, and experience crackle and pops. But these jerks and lurches are the kinds that would convey a mechanical issue.

Personally I feel embarrassed taking on a passenger in my W205. And with my recent experience of the 2017 e class in Denmark. I'd really recommend that you guys on this forum stay away MB. Except for maybe the S class which was well executed.

While a legitimate beef, it can be corrected.

NOPE. If you're expectation is for everyone to jump through hoops to get something so fundamental addressed, in afraid that just denigrated my MB experience even further.

Takes two days at the dealer. When done right, it is as smooth as a baby's ***.
