Iphone music playback

First post here, so lets how this goes. Hoping somebody has had issue and was able to resolve it.

When i connect my iphone via usb the music is at a fixed low volume and can't change the volume with the steering volume control or from my phone.

When I play my music over bluetooth everything works perfect and can control volume.

What's even more weird is when I connect my wife's iphone over usb i have volume control.

Have a 2016 C300 with the stock sound system.

You need to have at least one local audio file in your ITunes library on the device. Then volume control should work.

I'll try that out later on today, I usually only stream or listen from my tidal library. Thanks for the response, will keep you posted if that fixes the issue.

That's an interesting little tidbit... If there's nothing in the local library does the car treat the device differently?

Yeah, it treats it like it's not an audio device.
