AirMatic suspension knock
so every now and then when turning right, if I hit a sunken manhole cover or rut in the road I get a couple of knocks from the suspension. It's been back to the dealers and they can't see any issue. Anyone else had this on airmatic?

AirMatic is really good about letting you know when something's wrong with it, as I learned the hard way with the S Class. If it's not giving you any error notifications, the suspension, or at least the AirMatic part of it, is okay. That's not to say that any of the other suspension bits are all good, but if it's tracking normally I think you're fine.,
Like with any suspension there are hard bump stops at the limit of the upward suspension travel. Depending on your ride height (Comfort, Sport, Sport +) you can get into those.
Next time you're on that road, set AirMatic to the temporary lift mode and see if it still happens.

Thanks for the reply. It seems to be the corner of the car that is on the outer most of the right turn (so in UK terms it's the passenger front). I suspect it's a bush issue on wishbones or related linkage as it seems to be lateral movement. No sign of any issue 99% of the time, only on rough road when over 20mph and turning right. It sounds most like something heavy knocking on a bulkhead as if not fixed down fully but I suspect as above it's more likely a bushing that's not seated or manufactured properly. I'm sure in time like most things it will develop and be easier to replicate and locate for a fix.

Hi, did you figure it out what was the issue?, my 2007 E63 has the same thing going on, while going over a speed bump, i hear 2 soft thuds, as if some thing is loose in the trunk, like the jack stand or spare wheel.
