AutoTalent | Dinan DINANTRONICS Sport Performance Tuner for W205 C300 Turbo Engines

I have spoken w MB mechanics and yes it is detectable. They can trace it back to see where the engine exceeded design parameters, which means something was done to the engine. Then the engine warranty is void. If you seriously damage the engine you are looking at about 20K in repair out of your pocket. I will assume Dinan and the others will not cover your repairs. Ask them.

Concur. You can disconnect the piggyback system but it still leaves traces. And I would not have a system that uses only one source, that being boost. Other piggyback models utilize 3-4 different sources to increase power, but none operate within the warranty and I doubt if any of these private companies will give a warranty on the engine.

Dinan offers a 4yr 50k consequential warranty on their products for BMW. It DOES not currently apply to the Dinantronic Sport unit (like I have on my car and others here do). I am guessing perhaps in the near future they may come out with other higher tier products with that same warranty and migrate it over to our cars, Audi etc. but that is purely speculation on my part?. maybe that is what your guy is referring to?

I received mine last week. Purchased from a member here on the forum. The difference is notable and the installation is maybe 5 minutes. I have to get my 10k service done Friday and Saturday i'm booked but i'm hoping to get an appointment with the nearest AWD dyno shop in 2-3 weeks to do some pulls. I'll be sure to post my numbers.

I wrote Dinan but maybe someone here knows....
1) Does running in Sport+ or Race mode require racing gas or an ethanol blend?
2) Has Dinan published actual specs for the changes in boost/hp/tq between all the tuner modes?

requires neither. I have 91 in my car and keep it in sport + mode and have had no issues. I have toggled back n forth to race as well and experienced no problems there either.

Excellent. Thank you. I was holding off on using race mode out of that concern. I'll be checking it out for my ride home from work

So I went and got the car dyno'd today. First off I want to thank the guys at EFI Logics in Bethel, CT. Great guys out there, I highly recommend going to them for your dyno pulls if you're in need of an awd dyno in the nearby area.
So the attachment isn't the clearest scan but that shows the car in stock and in Sport+ mode on the dinan. The end result is the car dyno'd 194hp/239tq in stock mode. In Sport+ mode on the dinan it dyno'd at 204hp/256tq. In Race mode it only made maybe 1-2hp/2-3tq more than that. So overall a gain of 11hp/18tq.
Not bad for a 5 minute install but just not the advertised gain of 31lbs of torque. Now as I sit here writing this I am wondering if the guy put the car itself in Sport+ mode, or if that even matters. I failed to mention it so it's not their fault if it wasn't. In the end i'm still happy with it and will go back in the warmer weather to have them re-dyno it.

thanks for the figures. Dyno's will vary a bit certainly and I have no idea if the car should've been in sport mode for the test, but I'm guessing it should be for the best pull(s).
