Interior, Exterior protection package worth it?

Is this package worth it? i was given a quote of $800 for 5 years.

https://www.mbfs.com/mbfsr/en/faqs/f...rProtection.do

Mine is financed white C300 with beige interior. Being a light color , discoloration would be a problem in future?

Do they apply DuPoint protection when you buy this package?

Not worth it. Not underwritten by MB. Just $800 in pure profit to the dealer. There is no magic coating that can be applied to leather to protect it for five years, nor is there any such thing as "paint sealant". Ask for the long form contract and find the section labeled "Exclusions" to see what you're actually buying. The link you posted makes it appear that Mercedes is selling the coverage. If you look at the small print under the first paragraph it tells you who you're actually buying it from. (Offered by Advantage Product Pipeline, LLC).

"First Class" is sold thru MB's independent dealers. It's not an MB product. Steer clear.

I had a First Class wheel package on my S500 when I bent an $1100 AMG wheel. It still held air but couldn't be balanced. First Class directed me to the small print which excluded any damage to the wheel that didn't compromise it's ability to hold air. The F&I guy pitched it as total protection...even damage caused by curbing. Lesson learned...what the sales guy promises is irrelevant. The contract governs all.

My rule in the F&I guy's office (the second biggest profit center in the dealership. Service is the first) is to buy nothing that isn't underwritten by the manufacturer. That means lease wear and tear, wheel protection, ding insurance, leather protection, paint sealant, AutoButler. None of it, no matter how much the dude shakes his head and points to his little laminated sell-sheet.

However, on a car you plan to keep, the "Extended Limited Warranty", issued directly from the manufacturer, not Fidelity or Easycare or Assurance, but the manufacturer itself, is usually a smart buy. Also, you can shop around for that coverage after you buy the car, as long as it's purchased before the original factory warranty ends.

"Offered by Advantage Product Pipeline, LLC" was why i am skeptical on getting that. I will be buying Extended CPO warranty of 2 years , got a quote for $1750 which seems to be reasonable.

I paid like 490$ for 5 years of ding protection. what's a waste / mistake. I probably never going go use it. but I got 8000$ off msrp on 2016 c450. so it's not that bad.
