who on earth supplied these door leds, like I've not enough faults with this car I now have a door led out which means door open heart surgery to fix

MBWorld Fanatic!
I've already had three fail in less than two years of ownership. The right rear is the only one that hasn't burned out yet.
In the 6 months or so I've owned my C450, all four LED handle lights have blown and been replaced under warranty.
I had two replaced on my old 2015 C300 as well.

Any issues with such repairs ? Given it's a door in bits job?

How was the chirping noise from keyless fixed? I was told this is normal and was due to the key and the car communicating. Happens 4 minutes (from memory) from when you start the engine.Originally Posted by ManiacGT

My driver's door handle LED just went out for the second time. It had been replaced once about 2 years ago. It's my third LED failure.

I've got two out, and one purple...2015 C400 with only 25k on it. Good to know warranty will cover it.

Mercedes should cut off the Johnson of their LED handles supplier.

time. Dealer initially replaced the blades to no effect. In time however, presumably as they wear, they settle to a smoother action.Originally Posted by joe72camel

My experience with the wiper blades has been by the time they smooth out, they also wear out.

By the time I got to the dealer for the driver's door handle LED failure, the left read door handle LED had failed also. Both were replaced. At least I got them both replaced in one visit.

Hardly open heart surgery. Easy fix on mine (3 of the 4) with no ill effects.

thanks for your opinion. I alluded to the fact that the entire door card has to be removed, the window glass etc before you can even get access to the inside of the handle area where the LED is placed

I was told by the dealership that the door card has to be removed to access the door handle LED light. It's not a simple job of just replacing the LED from the outside of the door.Originally Posted by ManiacGT

From the service invoice describing work done to replace the door handle LED:
REMOVED DRIVER DOOR HANDLE, DOOR PANEL.
WINDOW AND WINDOW REGULATOR. REPLACED LED FOR DOOR HANDLE AND
REINSTALLED REVERSE ORDER. LED OPERATES NOW.
They seem to be pretty good at this. They do a lot of them.
