Wheels w205 vs W204

Hello,
I would like to reuse my replica wheels 18" bought for my w204 on a new w205 are they compatible?
Many sellers told me not compatible, but they did not tell me why?Probably ET is different?
Many thanks
Stefano.

I have a set of W204 C63 18" reps on my 205. They're 45mm all around, so they're 1mm tucked in up front and 11mm poking out in back. Looks great, and no driveability issues.

What are the offsets of the reps? Typically they run either 35mm or 45mm. 35mm might be too aggressive, 45mm are perfect.

Ok on the rears, will be 6mm closer to the strut on the inside up front. Probably ok, just eyeball the distance between the back of the wheel and the strut and verify there's over 6mm of clearance there currently. Fronts will also look slightly more tucked in than stock.
