Burmester Audio issue
Good morning MB world,
I have a concern, my c43 is about 3 weeks old. This morning I was playing Marian Hills song Down. (From the new apple commercial). The song sound like absolute ****. The highs where extremely screechy! I tried the same file on my home system and Acura. No issue
can someone else see if this is a issue with burmester or if my new car has blown speakers.

Not a blown speaker, just a poorly designed system with over reliance on 4" mid range speakers, which by their nature tend to sound bright and can be harsh. There are seven of them in the W205. There are also no conventional 6" mid bass woofers, so when you try to add volume to give the music more drive, the mid range speakers are getting proportionately more signal as well, which causes them to sound screechy.
In the Equalizer setting, put the mids to -10, bass and treble to full. That will help.
Is your music library composed primarily of local files on an IPhone?

You can download an EQ app for Iphone from the App Store, called "EQu" by Elephant Candy. It lets you design custom equalization for any local tracks on the device. For the W205 Burmester it would look something like this:
Unfortunately there's no way to fix the EQ from other sources (like CD) so I'd just rip those tracks to the the phone.

What source were you using when you listened to it? You mentioned CDs and your phone.
CD should have the best sound. SD Media should be about the same assuming you have audio files with high enough bitrates. USB to your phone should also be good assuming the quality of the audio file is good.
Using Bluetooth may introduce some compression artifacts that will affect the sound.

CD will have the most sound, but on a system like the Burmester, higher bitrate material (that can't be sufficiently equalized to surpress the mids) just exacerbates its shortcomings. For the CD material, setting ITunes to rip those tracks in lossless (ALAC) format will preserve the higher bitrate and also allow for some equalization via the app, although he may end up preferring the tighter sound of the 256kb AAC stuff.

I listened to that track. The vocals have some processing that definitely can sound shrill, and the low end is probably going to overwhelm the little Frontbass woofers as well. Other material probably won't sound as uniquely terrible as that track.
