iOS/Watch companion app connection
I have my Mercedes Me app connected with my car where I can lock/unlock and remote start. It appears they have a new Mercedes Companion app with Apple Watch support but it will not connect at all to my car. Has anybody gotten this to work for a 2016 C300? Does it even work well when connected? The Merc Me app works maybe half the time at best and takes minutes just to initiate the remote start.

Companion is kind of silly. It gives you fuel level and tire pressure. No remote start (that's thru MBrace I believe). It does have a cool low fuel feature where it counts down range mile by mile. Works fine on my 16.

Guess i'm not missing much then. I was hoping I could remote start from my watch.

They're all kind of pointless and gimmicky. I'd rather have a MidCity Smartkey Starter paired with a Drone Mobile Remote. Great remote start, and it doesn't have all of the pre-conditions (sunroof closed, windows closed, doors locked, 5 gallons of fuel) that Mbrace has. It'll also allow the car to run continuously once you get in it after a remote start, vs Mbrace, which kills the engine when the door is opened. So far MidCity hasn't done a Smartkey module for the 205 unfortunately.

I had the MidCity starter on my older e350 and it worked 99% of the time. I now have a 2017 GLS450 with Mbrace. The remote start is unreliable and as stated above has too many conditions that need to be met. Also and most recently, when I launch the app the remote start option is totally missing. I uninstalled/reinstalled the app from my iPhone and when launching the app I got ‘network not found’ or something like that . It appears this was the problem from the start. I believe when the app is launched it establishes a connection with the MBrace network and if it fails, the remote start option will not appear. I further confirmed this by installing Mbrace on my second iPhone where I got ‘network not found’ when launching the app. Looks like MB is having problems on the server side as well.
