C43 sounds better than c450??

c43 has this AMG DRIVER'S PACKAGE, -inc: AMG Performance Exhaust System, AMG Performance Steering Wheel in Nappa/DINAMICA, Wheels: 19" AMG Titanium Grey Multi-Spoke, Tire: 19", Summer Performance Tires which c450 does not have, just wonder if the c43 with the amg drivers pkg and the c450 sound differently.

If the C450 isn't equipped with the AMG Performance exhaust then yes, there will be a pretty substantial difference in how the two cars sound. I never got around to building a C450 so I'm not even sure if you could spec it with the AMG Performance exhaust.

Yes, your Amg steering wheel and 19" summer tires make your car sound 10x better than the 450

Different, yes, better, that will always be in the ear of the beholder.

All I know is I love my C43 PE.

C43 without perf exhaust sounds identical to C450.
C43 w/ perf exhaust > C450.
Perf exhaust was never an option for the C450.

Going with aftermarket exhaust is easy. AWE makes great systems for a very reasonable price.

Here's the skinny:
If you find a really good deal on a C450 that has all of your must-have equipment, you should buy it. A really good deal would be >15% discount from MSRP or a crazy lease deal.

If you can't find a C450 outfitted the way you want it, just order a C43.

I have to disagree with this slightly. I test drove a C43 cabrio without performance exhaust, and while the mufflers are identical, the ECU settings are slightly different, in which you can get more controlled misfire popping sounds from the C450. The C43 w/ no PE is a lot more subtle, and I could hardly make any of the popping sounds. Of course it still blips the throttle on down shifts, but the sound seems a bit more tame.

With the AMG performance exhaust, I think it does sound better than the stock C450. This might be more than just the hardware, as the ECU may also be controlling the quality of the sound as well (especially the pops).

I'm running a straight through pipe on mine, which would make it louder than any of the performance exhausts, so my opinion might be biased

Pretty sure that was just a TCU bug. After a few software updates and a couple TCU resets, it wasn't doing it anymore. My jerking problem only occurred in first gear when I try flooring it. I think some other people were having issues with a 2-3rd gear upshift jerk

2016 C450 AMG / C50 Lorinser
The C43 has the same engine as the C450. The C43 has the 9 speed whereas the C450 has the 7 speed trannie. The C43 will sound somewhat like the C450 however it will change gears faster so you may not hear to much of a clip but it till be there.

The C43 AMG Performance Exhaust is louder than the stock C450 Exhaust. All the other parts you mentioned where options for the C450.

Other noticable is that the C43 tach has the AMG signature. The AMG badge is now on the back and the BiTurbo replaces the AMG Sport badges on the side.

Otherwise the cars look and drive the same.

Hey CFG -

Transmission still jerks in C-mode but not noticable all the time. It does not jerk as hard as it used to but sometimes I can feel it. I can avoid it if I start off super slow and allow the transmission to slip before 2-3 gear which it's suppose to do. AMG advised MB to change my clutch sensor and flash my transmission since there was no error code that came up.

When did you last have any work done? There may be new software.

Incorrect. C43 without performance exhaust sounds closer to the C400. The C450 does come standard with performance exhaust, just that (1) it's not as loud as the C43 performance exhaust, and (2) it's not valve controlled. The C450 does have the pops and crackle in sports mode, that the C43 without performance exhaust would not have.

Yes, same engine. No, the trans will not change how the motor sounds fundamentally.

Sure, PE will be louder, but all variables being the same, the cars are going to sound the same regardless.

There is no way the 9spd is changing gears faster than the 7spd. It's just not possible. These things shift at near dual clutch speed.

This is not correct^.

The C43 with the standard exhaust will have all the same crackles and pops that the C450 does when it's driven in S+. A C43 with PE will be louder with the valves open. All the exhaust noises will be more pronounced in all drive modes and especially in S+.
