MACarbon Interior Trim?

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with MACarbon Interior trim on their w205?

https://www.macarbon.com/index.php?p...d=1&Itemid=422

If so,

1. How does it look compared to the OEM AMG Dark Carbon Fiber center console? Do they have a similar color and pattern?

2. How difficult is it to remove the interior door trim? Do you have to remove the whole door panel to swap out the trim?

Thank you for any input!

Re question #2...

Door card removal.
2 screws torx one under the handle the other top of the storage bin angled up and kinda back.
With the 2 out, you can now give a sharp pull to the lower edgeof the trim spreading the load across as much of the panel .. and the pop clips will release.
Continue to pop then free working up and around each side.
The card is now hanging on a lip on its top edge. Gently wiggle it while it is still relatively flat to the door and it will release..
the card is now free except for the door handle cable, which is a twist and pull up from its rotating bezel.
The wire harness to the speakers and the window / central locking units, release the clips with the small tabs and pull out.. they can only go back in where they came from so no need to mark up..

Once you've done this a few times its a 1 min job.. to pull a door card..

The wood inserts have numerous flat tang style clips which will need a v too or perhaps some needle nose pliars to release. Just be careful with the composite (ie made of numerous parts) door cards as the more you flex them the less rigid the heat stake fixings may become which may lead to NVH.
Its worth while to add sound deadening behind the door card and lube all clips locations to prevent creaking. Also worth applying thin foam or felt around the insert trim as these are notorious for creaking when you apply any force to the door card.. eg resting your elbow on its upper edge..

Re assy is reverse etc..

Have fun.
