Our website is in the middle of being redone. Taking a lot longer than we anticipated unfortunately. Feel free to email me at Golan@AutoTalent.com and I can assist further.

Sorry guys been working too much. Car has been running great, I sit in a lot of traffic to & from work so I actually haven't been using it every day. When I do activate it, it works great. The next tempting thing is I want to do the exhaust on this car. Someone asked about the crackle from the exhaust; the c400 has none even in S+.

Are the installation instructions the same as the c250/300?
I got the test unit for my c43 but I'm not sure if I follow the c300 install instructions

I think it might have been a small oversight or the installation might be the same as the c300. After all, it's just two plugs.
I got the test kit for the c43, pretty sure they rushed to ship it out since I was asking hourly for the tracking number.
The package looks great though.

Im sure the "sensor" locations for your c43 wouldn't be in the same place as the C300 due to the different engine layout. Same plugs most likely, different mapping in the tune Im sure but if I had to take a wild guess the sensor you are looking for will be near the front of the engine, maybe under the engine cover, but probably down between the front of engine and the radiator area in a "crevice" somewhere? .

A few questions, if you don't mind (sorry if these have been answered, but nothing came up in a search):
How easy/difficult are these to install on a C450? I looked at the install instructions for the 2.0T version but how does the 3.0TT compare? Are the connections buried under other components?
Also, can the dealer tell if one of these units has been previously installed, if it is removed before taking the car in for service?
Interesting that a warrantied version, if there ever is one, might be 5x the price. That implies some risk in these "unwarrantied" units. What is the risk of engine damage from running one of these (assuming street, not track use)?

On a scale of 1 to 10 on install with the 2.0T being a 2 the 3.0T install might be a 2.5 or a 3. Haven't finalized instructions or anything but the sensor connector is pretty easily accessed. A bit of an odd angle but that's about it.
I am not aware of the processes in MB land so I will answer the dealership question like I would on the BMW front.... No tune is undetectable. However, the amount of effort to find traces of a tune is where the differentiation lies. With the piggyback approach if it is removed there is no way for a dealership to detect it has been there with their available tools. That said if something catastrophic were to happen and an engine or transmission destroyed chances are a factory team would come in to diagnose the issue (PUMA on the BMW side). These individuals have factory tools that could delve deeply into the electronics and find inconsistencies that would indicate a tune was present. Its all spurned on by a large warranty claim though and the chances of it getting to that point are minimal.
While the SPORT tune is safe its whole purpose is to be a commodity item that is attractive to the masses. At a $300 price point it simply isnt possible to extend a factory matching warranty. It ultimately comes down to our matching warranty coverage that include parts and labor and simple economics. A a single minor claim for any number of random small things could be a $300 bill just in labor at a dealership and erase any possible profits instantly.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the "technical difficulties" as in a simple installation issue or a more serious issue causing drivability problems?
