DIY retrofit Comand
Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone has any info on whether a second hand NGT5 HU can simply be installed plug n play style in a car which came factory fitted with an audio 20 setup.
My car is a 2015 c250 sport UK spec with rear camera, audio 20, burmester sound and electric seats. I was hoping to retrofit comand purely because I think the glass fronted 8 inch screen looks much better than the standard audio 20.
Dealer is unsure whether this will work - main issue is the serial no. of the comand HU and whether this has to be specific to my car?? Would the dealer have a difficult time linking a second hand unit to my car?
Dealer quoted 3 grand for this (new parts not including labour). New screen and second hand hu will cost 800 pounds and self install. Would really appreciate any tips advice! Thanks in advance!
