Roof racks with panorama roof

This past weekend, I noticed on two separate C63 sedans (both had the panorama roof) that the fixed mounting points were obscured by the surrounding trim piece that is towards the center of the car. The trim piece seemed to move slightly as I pushed on it, but I don't know if it would move enough for a screw to pass by and not damage the trim piece in the process. I posted this on the AMG C63/C43 forum, but didn't get any responses. Any C300/C400/C450 sedan owners successfully use the fixed mounting points for a roof rack?

Yes, I understand that the hinged door flips up to reveal the threaded attachment point. What I'm saying is that there was a trim piece that runs from the windshield to the rear glass that would prevent a screw from being inserted into the threaded attachment point. A picture would have helped clarify, but I didn't happen to take one.

I am trying to install a Thule rack and have this problem. Did you ever find a solution?
