Any discussion of MB's relative reliability should includes MB's relative complexity. Generally, if there's an easy (cheap) way to accomplish an engineering result, and a more difficult, expensive and complex way that yields even a marginally superior outcome, MB chooses the latter. The cumulative result of all those marginal improvements does result in a better car and a better driving experience, but complexity and reliability almost never go hand in hand. I think Germans acknowledge the additional hardship and cost involved in maintaining their products as a badge of honor, not a negative.

I was watching a WWII documentary about German war machines, specifically the last iteration of the Tiger Tank. They were vastly superior in battle vs British and US tanks. Much better armored, faster, bigger guns and way more lethal. But because of their complexity and cost, Germany couldn't build them as quickly (they also were starved for raw materials at that point) and the Tigers required almost continuous downtime for service and field maintenance.

The Allied tanks were relatively slow, vulnerable, and less effective but we cranked out tens of thousands of them much more quickly than they were being destroyed. Basically the Germans put a quirky S Class into battle and got overwhelmed by a million Ford Escorts that needed little to keep them running.

There is nothing a $60,000 C Class does as far as moving people and materials from Point A to Point B that a $30,000 Civic can't do. The C isn't twice the money because it's twice as reliable, but it is in most respects twice the car.

Mercedes-Benz C-class w205
I have the old 220 diesel engine in my c-class and so far i have had zero problems with my car after 15 000 km. BUT. I have a quite stripped down version, the only fancy stuff ive gott is the burmester stereo and 360 camera package so i guess it is not much that can go wrong.

I had bought c300 in 2015 it was good in the beginning the drive, performance , speakers everything was good and I was so happy with the car and eventually, like after 5 months of purchase I had an issue panaromic roof it got stuck in middle and never closed so I took to showroom and they replaced under warranty, and again few Months same problem arises again they fixed it when I ask them why it's happening they said there is something wrong with the installation so I believe them and said fine. Within in a week , it stopped working and again replaced it. Not sure though how long it's going to work

The second issue was 3 out of 4 door LEDs are now working and they replaced it under warranty and this happen in just two months.

The third issue was the mouse/track pad sometimes when it's is too sunny outside it will not work not even hard buttons get stuck and only way to control the infotainment is through actual scroll under the track pad and I told dealer several time but they are saying since there is no code displaying they said all is fine anyways, which is not .Does anyone you guys face this kind of problem in ur car ?

And last but not least, this is curent issue that I facing my trunk is not opening through the keyless entry ....ohh my gosh i cant take this anymore my dealer has having my car most of than me

So im thinking to file a lemon law claim so canyone please help me out on how claim actually works?

Had mine in this week for the door handle LEDs, the intermittent wipers not working, and the dash / gauge dimmer not working.

They had to order the parts for the LEDs and the wiper rain sensor. So I'll need to go back.

Of course, while they were doing the diagnostics, something must have triggered the dimmer, because it worked when they tried it. It worked this morning, and not this afternoon. Joy.

I have about 28k on the odometer. Besides these (minor) items, no complaints! Just want them fixed.

Good state to be in for Lemon Law! Do the free case evaluation form here:

https://www.yourlemonlawrights.com/michigan-lemon-law

I worked with these guys (Khron & Moss) years ago developing their first national lemon law referral site. At the time they were the biggest lemon law firm in the country, probably still are. Good luck!

I have no idea who Kevin is, but the best way to get your case under their nose is to submit it online. We designed the online submission form to screen out folks who have no case (the firms are inundated with queries from literally anyone who has any problem with any car) so if you make it thru there's a good chance you have or are close to having a case.

Short version, 3 or more unsuccessful repairs for a single issue, or 30 days in the shop for any combination of issues.
