Can I adjust the height of the door lock push button?

I found the driver door push button is not fully immersed when locked. It looks like unlocked from outside although the door is actually locked. I am worried it will attract unwanted attempts to open the door when unattended.

Is there an easy way to adjust this push button lower?

It probably just needs to be screwed down more.

^ What he said, although I'm not sure how much extra room there is in those plastic threads to go down. Also just be mindful that the OEM plastic pins are on pretty tight. Wrap some tape or cloth onto pliers when you undo them.

Alternatively buy some alloy pins (JB Speed guy on this forum sells a decent set at a reasonable price). They look heaps better and you can screw them down to be totally flush when closed.

If someone mistakenly thinks the door is unlocked, they are not going to attack it with tools. They are simply going to try to open it. Then they will find out it is locked! Then they will either walk away, or they will do whatever they were going to do if the button informed them that door was locked.

I think the idea is to leave enough button projecting to be able to pull the button up manually. I'm not sure why this would be necessary. Pulling the door handle unlocks all the doors. However, the unlock is electrical, so it might fail. Then a manual unlock would be necessary.
