Bluetooth issues c220 bluetec

Hi all sorry bit geeky but I wanted to use my amazon alexa dot in the car so created hotspot through iPhone 6 Plus so far so good however it won't connect to the Bluetooth audio as a Bluetooth audio player keeps saying not authorised and tried through alexa app and just won't connect.

So anyone any ideas or anyone know if you can get a 3.5mm audio jack to go into one of the USB ports in the armrest

All ideas very welcome

Ta

David

Dot is a BT receiver, but I'm not sure if it's also a BT transmitter, which is what you'd need. Unfortunately the USB ports on the car are looking specifically for a mass storage device or a smartphone. No way to feed them stereo audio and have the car make any sense of it.

I'd just add a BT transmitter to the 3.5mm analog out of the Dot and that will pair to the car.

The transmitter will need a source for power (micro USB).Bluetooth issues c220 bluetec-photo136.jpg

The first use you need to set up the transmitter to pair. What transmitter are you using?

Ok it would appear to be down to the fact that neither the dot or Bluetooth receiver / transmitter ask for a pass key or can confirm a passkey like a iPhone or iPad does both connect no probs. So some way I need a Bluetooth device that I can confirm a passcode with that connects to the dot
