Hi i'm planning to buy an E-class 220D or 250 AMG from 2015 or 2014. Ive seen one which is 2014 but the mileage seems quite high (44000miles/ 72000km). Is this high for a mercedes diesel engine car, how many miles would you expect until you start getting trouble?

You're in the wrong part of the forum. You should ask a moderator to move this to the E class (W212) section which is further up the road. Sorry I can't help with your question.

I can. Never own a Mercedes out of warranty. It's usually not the engines that get you (although the diesels are known for turbo seal issues) it's all the other stuff. CPO with the two year extension (3 years total) is IMO the only way to own a used Benz, and plan on unloading it before the warranty expires.

Always get an extended warranty on a Mercedes. They will cost you an arm and a leg if you don't.

Think about it this way: if you reduce to present value the likely costs of future unwarranted repairs, it'll scare your donkey and exceed your cost basis in the car....
