Just building a car on the UK configurator and have noticed that Apple CarPlay is listed as an option with the smartphone integration package - I'm pretty sure this wasn't here the other day.

However, it appears to only be available with Audio 20.

Does anyone have any info about this?

Yeah the US is expected to get the same deal. Smartphone integration only if you select the A20. Not available as part of the Multi Media Package. I guess the thinking is that if you don't have COMAND navi and voice control you'll have the option to use your phone instead. Personally I think it's a huge miscalculation not to make it available with COMAND.

Or it's possible it's included in the MMP but optional on the A20.

Any idea if it will be available as a retrofit to prior w205s with A20?

I'm guessing you could buy a new A20 head unit and the CarPlay module and do it yourself. MB was promising a retrofit module for a bunch of models back in 2014. By 2015 they had fallen silent and nary another word was spoken.

Same for Aus, must be new build for RHD models.

Except it clearly says you cannot get Command and Carplay at the sametime.
