Volume Control of Media

I've recently picked up a 65 plate C220d. Normally I listen to Spotify that's saved on my iPhone via connected USB cable.

Have done the same in this car and works fine with album artwork etc, but I have no control over the volume? Volume is set to max on the iPhone and can't turn up or down via the car but can mute?

Using an iPhone 5s with most up to date iOS.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

You need to have at least one song (MP3 for example) in your default music app for volume control to work. Not sure why that's the case, but if you sync any MP3 from iTunes to your phone, Spotify volume control will work.

wanted to add , if you delete the default music app the phone isn't recognized by the car ( I tend to use iHeartRadio & Google music)

I was sad for a few weeks because of this issue
