So my "base" C300 has factory 486 Sport Suspension

I have always thought since the day I picked it up that it rode quite firm but also handled really well. Better than a C class should coming from many BMWs. For that reason and the fact that the original runflats were just about done at 21k miles I put on non runflats too. Today it was on my mind and I finally found a working vin decoder and lo and behold I have option 486 sport suspension. I also have staggered 18" wheels from the factory all without being a sport package car.

I know there were a few threads where there were sport package cars that came with the comfort suspension and I also read of one member who has a non-sport that came with the sport suspension. Now I can add myself to the list too! This car has really grown on me and goes in for its 40k service tomorrow. May be time for an ELW so I hold onto it a bit longer. I was originally planning to ditch it after the 4yr/50k was up. Not to mention I now know it's a very "rare" and "exclusive" mix of options so its sure to start increasing in value as time goes on....

That was another tip off for me. The wheel gap on my car always seemed to be less than the other base or lux packages C's that I see. Just drove a base comfort suspension 4matic loaner with 17" runflats back and forth to work today while mine was being serviced. The difference is quite noticeable.

The comfort suspension reacts much less quickly to steering inputs and has not only more additional roll from steering inputs but it seems will roll more if you sharpen your line within a turn. The sport suspension barely rolls and then stays flat. This is pretty apparent in highway lane changes.

I'm quite happy to habe ended up with the sport suspension. From the first time I drove it I couldn't believe what a great handler it was. Far exceeded my expectations which were expecting the characteristics of the comfort suspension.

Hmm, I entered my C300 (which has the sports package) VIN into that website and see no option 486 like OP mentioned or any other code suspension related. Something else I noticed is that I saw option 875 HEATED SCREEN WASH SYSTEM. Is that a heated windshield washer system? If so, I didn't know that was available on the W205. Maybe I am mistaking it for something else?

EDIT: Apparently I have the comfort suspension (code 485) which reads COMFORT RUNNING GEAR
