C250 cruise control

My 2017 C250 doesn't seem to have a regular cruise control. The only selections available are "speedtronic" & "distronic". I've looked in the users manual and it says the car also has regular cruise control but I can't seem to select it without activating either of the two options above

If you've Distronic, I don't think you can disable regular cruise control.

I've it on mine and the closest I can make it act like regular cruise control is set the distance to the minimum distance allowed.

Why would you want to disable Distronic?

maybe an obvious question, but how are you attempting to enable it?

The first time I tried without reading a manual, I kept attempting to push the button on the control lever. Try by just pushing the lever up(do not push the button) and it should come up with the cruise control speed on your dash screen. You can adjust it in small increments or increments of 5mph depending on how hard you move the lever up or down.

Pull the lever toward you to engage, push away to disengage (or brake) light push up or down will increment/decrement speed by 1 hard press by 5

Distronic will maintain the set speed until the vehicle in front slows or sppeds up and it will then maintain a minimum distance for the speed to the vehicle in front, so great in a line of traffic.

pressing the button in will engage the speed limiter, set the speeed and you will not be able to accelerate past the set speed unless you kick down hard, which will over-ride the set speed.

Does that help?

And on a seperate but safety reated note, UK police are warning about not using cruise in the wet. If you use in wet conditions and the wheels aquaplane, the cruise will think the car is slowing down so accelerate and spin the wheels, then if grip returns, the car will accelerate wildy and crashes have resulted. You have been warned!
