Distronic Plus

I forgot to mention that the Distronic works from 0 - 200 kmh and when you come to a full stop for more than 2 seconds, and the car in front of you starts to drive again, you have to hit the accelerator or the Distronic handle to trigger it to follow again.
For me it was definitely worth the money.

I’m considering this feature for my build, but purely for handling stop & go city traffic.

It's very useful in stop & go traffic. The only thing you have to do when the traffic in front of you starts driving again is hit the accelerator or the stock on the steering column.

My only gripe with the feature is that even at the lowest setting, there is still a large gap to the car in front...at highway speeds. What then happens is that cars behind you get impatient and go around (to the left or right) and jump in the gap and you are "pushed" further back in the line.

I have never had the car try to change lanes when the car in front of me moves over... I've conirmed this by setting the speed well above the flow of traffic wherein it slows down, the car in front moves over to allow me to pass... even with my hands off the wheel it stays put. If it was tracking the car in front, how would it work if there was no car to track (i.e., you are leading traffic)? I could be wrong....but.
I had mine set at 102kmh and was following a car. The car slowed down to 50kmh in a speed zone and my car followed suit.
However, the car in front suddenly pulled in to a filling station which left me with an open road. My car started to accelerate to 100kmh in a 50 zone! Quite unnerving really.

You must pay attention to your set speed. You told the car to cruise at 102 what do you expect it to do.

I realise that. I didn't expect the car in front to suddenly pull off the road.
That was the first and only time.

Also, it will speed up to the maximum speed you have set, when your lane is clear.

I don't care.. I can always step on the brake to slow down are cancel... I just want it to be able to speed up to my set speed and stay there no matter what..I like speed... I am speed

How many months/years until distronic is standard? I mean seriously they can't expect to milk this feature forever especially with corollas getting it.
