Navigation SD eBay?
There's plenty of navigation SD cards on eBay for a fraction of the price the dealer was quoting me when I bought the car. I got it in the mail and it seems to work. Are these legit, or did somebody just buy a card and start bootlegging copies?

I have seen eBay copies that certainly look and work like genuine OE cards... I have bought and used about 12-14 so far.. US eBay source now like $120 each.. come in paper sleeve packaging with inner anti-static envelope - all marked with genuine OR #'s.
Here in the US - the cards delivered to dealers are packaged in a DVD clam shell..

I just went through figuring this all out and making it work. I found a lot of helpful instructions with dead links. To make this helpful long-term I'm avoiding ephemeral links and torrent files. I'll just share enough information to find it on your own in your own timeline.
Here's how I did it safely:

- Since I got everything from torrents, I used virtualbox VMs without ever executing anything on my host PC
- None of my VMs were given any network access.
- All data to/from the VM was moved over either a USB drive or ISOs mounted in a virtual DVD drive

- Torrent "WIS" 19.62GiB - VM disk image that happens to contain keygen
- The keygen program is difficult to find. I ended up downloading this russian virtualbox VM named "WIS" that happened to have that keygen on it.
- I tried finding other sources for keygen. They're locked up behind websites where you pay $20-30 to get an account. I think these sites survive takedown requests because they're behind a paywall.
- I copied the keygen to a flash drive before discarding the VM.
- Torrent "EPC 2018-11" - 29.86GiB
- Chosen because it looks like this went to cloud/online hosting and my old 2010 is well-covered in this older version
- Contains five ISOs
- Torrent "WIS 2018-11" - 15.17 GiB
- Contains two ISOs
- Windows 7 Professional SP1 - many sources
- For a fresh English installation of windows because that original WIS was in russian.
- Search for a product key online and try some until they work
- Internet howtos - print to pdf and transfer via the flash drive
- Create a new win7 VM with 4G RAM, a single processor, and a single 64GB dynamic volume (with ended up being just under 55GB after installation)
- Installation is rather complicated compared to modern applications.
- There are several sources online of varying quality

- Installation tips
- Copy the keygen software to the VM via the USB drive
- Mount the ISOs as virtual DVDs. The software makes you "install" each disc multiple times because it ensures that you the complete disc set prior to installation
- The ISO names A1, A2, A3, A4 do not match up with the name the installation program uses when asking for the disc. Just use them in order.
- After installation tweak the um_cfg.xml configuration file to prevent "error 462" (covered in the blog post linked in the previous line)

- Print-to-pdf the installation instructions and keep a copy on the VM - handy to have there
- Make the admin password the same as your luggage - 12345 - and create a text document on the desktop with this and any other relevant login info.
