Navigation Upgrade Breaks Street Sign Assist???
Ok folks... car has been at the dealer for 10+ days now, and they have no ETA. About 30 days after getting the Navigation update to 2017-2018 data, I noticed that the speed limits and warnings were no longer displayed in the HUD, or anywhere else for that matter.
Has anyone else noticed this issue after getting the recent OEM navigation update???
They have no idea what's wrong....

Everything is on that should be, but there's no longer an option for it in the menu...
Even dealer is perplexed.

I looks like they switched off the traffic sign assistant in the configuration of the car.
I recently had both updates (msps and software) but did not notice this. I will have a closer look tomorrow.
I am in Europe btw.

Can you remind me?
They apparently tested the update on another vehicle and it broke that car, as well.
TPSS case was opened as a result.

Option is on.
I'm going to check my wife's car to see as she has the same version.
This may be just a north America issue.....

Might be that your map data is missing the speeds.

I know that the speeds that are displayed are also coming from the maps. So the speed that is displayed initially is coming from the map. As soon as you pass a speed limit sign that will take priority over the maps.

Whether the upgrade actually turned off the option, etc., is still unknown.
I don't believe the street sign assist actually reads street signs, but anything's possible.
This is definitely an annoying issue, but doesn't take away too much from the enjoyment of driving....

The dealer does, in fact, believe it is some issue with the upgrade itself.

so the system is capable of doing that.
However in Europe most signs (round red ring and a number inside) are standard in most countries.
In the US each state has its own type of speed signs.
Maybe that is the reason it can't recognize the signs and relies totally on the map data.
I verified my system and with V10 2017/2018 i still have a functional system.
I know that Daimler, BMW and the Volkswagen group have taken over Here Navigation and it might be that they are slowly migrating to this system with the current issue as a result.
Let's hope they can solve it quickly.

Ok I put in a route and the navigation now showed the stoplights along every intersection along the route. It doesn't show them when there is no route.
Due to other issues, my car also got a new COMAND update while at the dealership (it now displays the time!)...I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

It never provided stop signs or anything like that, anyway though.

My 2015 never showed speed limits. I did have one update, which didn't affect that at all. Total PITA, not having that information... something virtually every other navigation system shows.
