What Blutoe was trying to say - please understand your ML350 up thru 2012 is W164 - and since 2013 is the W166.
Depending on your year - and what country - "updates" could be free or could be charged - also depending on what type of update it is.
You may want to re-post your question in the approriate W164 or W166 forum depnding on your yr/model.

I have ML250 (2012) W166,
How can I find out the software version installed on my vehicle?
I can see lots of information on Vehicle data menu but can't work out which software is installed.
