Need some advice on these 20” rims and lowering?

Hi

I have just purchased my first ever Mercedes Benz yesterday. It’s a c220d sport premium , plenty of toys.

i will be changing bumpers, lowering, de chroming etc etc.

I would like some advice on some wheels.

8.5x20 ET 25 fronts

10x20 Et42 Read

5x112
CB72.6

will these wheels fit comfortable without running as I wanted to lower it also. 30-40mm maybe so the wheels are nicely sat in the arches with an aggressive stance.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks

I think the fronts will be fine, but you might run into issues with the rear depending on how wide you go with the tires. Try going to a wheel shop and ask I feel they can test fit a few different sets.

That’s the thing they are not from a wheel shop 😔 it’s a gamble but thought somebody might be able to tell me for definite?

yoy say issues with the rear? Would that be rubbing or poking out too much?

thanks

The issue will be tire rubbing on the outside of the guards/wheel arch, especially if you get runflat tires and reduce the height by 30-40mm. You might need to reduce the tire width and end up with the stretched look like the drift boys go for. I tried a few different combos at a wheel shop and ended up staying with the 19" amg wheels with 255 35 19 tires. If you want to increase the camber on the rear you shouldn't have a problem.

thanks for taking the time to reply!

damn wish I went for 19” option now and dropped it! 😔

not a huge fan of the stretched tyre look especially being my daily, need some comfort! Lol

wont be getting run flats so on that front I should be ok?

will the fronts be ok? I don’t mind SOME camber on the wheel but not massive?!

will putting 20” wheels and lowering really affect my ride?

Thanks

You should be fine if you run a bit of camber in the rear and standard tires. The fronts should not have any issue at all.
The ride will be significantly firmer.

what tyre sizes should I be looking at? I really don’t want to be running stretched tyres that’s all,

For comfort look at the tire size 295 35 20 but for the correct sizing and to keep the speedo accurate 285 30 20
