Hello I have a 2012 c300 4matic that has a small leak at the Rear Differential according to Mercedes. They want $1100.00 for the repair. I called consumer affairs and they said we can take off 15% to help. I said that's it. I called again and they went up to 25%. I think cars of this quality should not have issues like this at only 56,000 miles. What should I do?. I see no drips but they did show me where its hitting the exhaust by the differential. Also the rear end has three of these seals. Main shaft and right and left side. I wonder if that repair includes all 3. I will call and find out. Is this common? Please contact me if any body has had this issue and was Mercedes willing to do something more.

 

sounds annoying. If I were in your position, I'd prob take it to a mechanic that can work with benz vehicles, and see how much they'd take to fix the issue. The cars is out of warranty and so you don't need to pay the mercedes "luxury tax."
