Garmin Map Pilot error message

C200 - 2015
I've just put the SD card into my PC to update it. Almost immediately I got the message "update complete." That was so quick that I doubted it had worked so I re-inserted the card and ran the software again. I then got "please insert SD card into vehicle first." So I inserted it into the car - confirmed that it is the card for my vehicle - correct VN etc - took it back to the PC and got same error message. Any solutions to th eproblem please?

Try deleting the GarminMapPilot.xml and then re-inserting it into your car, then try to update.

Thanks - however I don't have GarminMapPilot.xml but I do have GarminDevice.xml - does that serve the same purpose? There is also Downloadmanager.xml - which is the only file withtodays "modified" date - I am tempted to delete this and re-insert the card into the car. What do you think of that?

When you insert it into the car it should treat it as a new card and ask you if you want to pair it with the car. Do the pairing, then try the update. Also out of curiosity are you using the latest download manager for Windows?
