Manual shift

Testing out Manual shifting recently. I wonder how you people go about shifting while turning? It seems nearly impossible, by the time I’m able to touch the paddle, I am too late. The sound of locked 1st gear while turning drives me nut. I’m talking about a fast turn from a stop sign due to busy lane. Never driven a stick, either I’m doing something wrong.

Any of the shift pad extensions will help you shift better during turning.
