Premature rear break wear
So my brake wear indicator turned on at 36000km (22500 miles) and thought I was a bit aggressive with a couple of auto X events I have been to and burned out the fronts.
End up it was the rears that was burned up and the fronts are fine. Lucky it was covered by 2 year/40,000km wear warranty, beat it by about 2 weeks. So service adviser said this is common across all W205 caused by torque vectoring applied by the brakes.
Wonder if any member experience this or is this caused by my aggressive driving corning on a few on/off ramps each day.

My “brake pad wear” warning came up on dash. Dealer checked it when I was in for service last week. They advised that rear discs were near Merc spec minimum and rear pads needed changing at same time.
I’ve done 25k miles and do not drive hard or brake hard. Dealer told me that they have found this to be common on 205 C models.
I’ve complained to the dealer because this seems to be very low mileage for discs compared every previous car I’ve owned! I’ve normally reached around 40k miles before discs need replacing. I’m pretty sure dealer won’t do anything about my complaint because it will be put down to wear and tear.
I’ve declined to have the work done at the dealer - even with the parts discount they offered. I’ll be getting the brakes replaced at an indy Mercedes mechanic that has come highly recommended.

Isn't this covered under your warranty? There are threads in the forum on this. Check the other C class (205), E class (213) & GLC class forums.

I'm in Canada and that is how they got my rear brakes covered under that clause. My car will hit 2 years in 2 weeks, just got it done in time.

Seems rear brake pads do wear quickly. I had mine replaced at 39km and I am an anticipatory driver and am not hard on the brakes at all. The majority of my driving is on near empty straight roads though i use the speed limiter or distronic nearly all the time. It is not a particularly hilly area either.
It is a first for me as I normally change my cars every 3 yrs and have not had to have new brake pads before.....
