Spare tire panel

Hi, I came upon this part:
https://www.mboemonline.com/oem-part...nel-2056100175

A spare tire panel. item 205-610-01-75

Is this a part we can swap in order to store a spare tire in the trunk, or is this already installed even if we have the standard run flat tires, and they just kept the name? I see that mercedes also sells a spare wheel/tire.

I am thinking of getting rid of the runflat tires after they are worn out. So I would like to get a real spare wheel/ and or the emergency inflate kit.

Thanks.

I'm very interested in this as well, I just recently switched out to regular tires and the rides a lot quieter. But I'm running the risk of getting stranded with my no spare wheel and I don't want it to take up trunk space.

I'd also love to hear your experiences or anyone else who has done this.

I would like to do this too if I was sure it would work. I currently have a donut spare sitting in the trunk and would love to make this conversion if possible. Does anyone know if it is really feasible?

I'm in the same boat. I ditched my run-flats and bought the space saver spare (205-400-01-00) from MBWholesalePartsOnline.com, along with a vinyl cover from Amazon and have the unit strapped into the trunk of my 2015 C400 with a bungee cord. It's reasonably clean and secure, but occupies a great deal of trunk space.

The above site and many others indicate that the panel will fit my car, but I'm trying to figure out if/how it allows the aforementioned spare to be stored flat (or close to flat) underneath the trunk mat. Alternatively, will I have to acquire one of those self-inflating spare tires? Then, if I have to get the smaller spare, will it fit around the larger brakes of the C400? So many variables - I'm sure many of us would love to hear from anyone who's installed this part successfully.
