I have my lights installed but I can't run the OBD because I can't get WeChat. I even paid someone on Fiver to help create an account, but he just took my money and ran off. Does someone here have WeChat and willing to help verify my account?

Yeah, I got it working but not through WeChat. WeChat will only work for non-command systems. If you have Command, you will need it programmed using MBStar. and the appropriate dealer/feature code to flash the ambi light control program into the system.

Ambient Light, Chinese KIT or original can be activated in any configuration - Comand or non-Comand - with a 20$ Openport interface from Aliexpress and a Windows laptop. This way the original configuration can be saved before any modification so in case of something goes wrong, it can be uploaded anytime.
The Chinese "activators" can severely damage the units as they change some bytes without considering the model, Hardware or Software version.

I purchased my kit from ALI for a W205 and it had to be flashed with a MBStar to get the factory menus working. When I purchased this, the dongle only worked for older models, the updated command was not compatible and I even tried through WeChat,
This was a while back, maybe things have changed now. Do you have a link to this kit you are referring to?

I wouldn't recommend this method for no technical people. You need to have a somewhat decent understanding on fw/assembly level code/hex to go that route. MBStar is much safer for the average joe. Doing this wrong and not having a backup will brick your ecu.
