A couple of days after I got the car (2018 C300, CPO) I noticed odd rattling inside the steering wheel. It mostly rattles only when I drive over bumps.
Attached a video that demonstrates the problem. Notice the sound when I tap on the lower left quoter.

What could it be?

That would bother me. Did you try pressing down on stuff like the brushed metal part or button pads? Maybe shimmy the horn a little bit. Check the paddle shifters too.

Yes I've tried that. The noise doesn't seem to come from any of them.

I also mentioned that to the dealer while they were repairing the rear power window button and the only reply I got was "not a safety issue". I assume they at least took the airbag off.

Is the steering wheel itself hollow? Would it be possible for a piece of plastic or metal to fall inside?

My dealer managed to fix it: the problem was caused by remains of the original wrapping.

Sorry to revive old thread but this sound resembles a rattle I have in my steering. Do you know what they removed or where?
