Steering column won’t lower

oh wise forum members,
the other day i noticed the steering column won’t lower back to original height(stuck in the “easy exit” up position)...
forward&back adjustment works fine, just cannot lower or raise the column...i do hear a brief wurr noise when depressing the column adjustment lever up or down, for a half second then stops(not a continuous noise when holding down lever)
i checked this forum, but all i could see were posts from w204s saying a plastic piece had broken...

I tried turning off the easy exit setting, but still stuck in the up position.
Does anyone know if there’s an easy fix, or should i drop off at the service center(‘16, so still under warranty...is it covered under warranty?!?)

anybody know how this could have happened?

thank you for your help!!

As you're still under warranty, take it in. MB will tell you whether it's covered.

A gaggle of MB's
Look... "sometimes" - move the power control stalk "down" - and take your right hand and "bang hard" on the top of the steering wheel 4/5/6 times..
