W205 - If You Pull Ashtray - Cubby Mat Dimensions
When the center ash tray is removed - the best cubby mat (called Storage Compartment Tray) is MB part# A 205 683 01 91 - made by Fischer Automotive Systems in Germany - which is about $35 + tax from your local dealer - if you need to order from internet price can be like $27/$28 but they hit you for like $14-$16 shipping.
It's a righteous part - frankly super fit - absolutely no complaints except this precisely made rubber part is $35.
If you want to "Make-Your-Own" - I have attached a pdf - actual size - scanned from the bottom - the outside edges are of a the molded top lip - the inner line is the inner lower tray of this molded piece. The two "notches" are nothing important

Thanks Fabbrisd1, I had no idea the ashtray could be removed by just pulling it out. There is now so much more room to store items in the dash console/cupholder area. I ordered the mat with the part# you provided. It's coming in from Germany in about 10 days and was $37.50 from the dealership. List price was $52.88 and I told the parts guy that I would just order it online for $28 plus shipping. He did some research and lowered the price to something more reasonable, if you could call $37.50 +tax reasonable for a small rubber mat lol.

You're welcome - and so you know for future reference $37.50 is the "MB MSRP" - on parts - dealers, especially in urban area's - are allowed to quote higher prices as "market adjustment"
The MB mat is certainly well-over-engineered - much better than anything I could hand cut - if only some China guy would knock it off !

Kindof funny - it's actaully a "really nice mat" - molded radius edges - frankly the mat should be "standard" and the ashtray a option - really....

With my 2106 GLC 300, here's how I did it:
1. grip sides of ashtray between thumb and index (or middle) finger
2. gently push FORWARD (toward front of car) on astray, then LIFT up the ashtray from back (rear of car)
The trick is that there's a spring on the front of the ashtray that keeps tension against a plastic lip on the back, locking the ashtray in place. You have to push forward slightly to disengage the lip. Replacing is reverse of removal: drop ashtray in, forward part first, then push down in back (rear of car) while pushing forward slightly. The plastic lip will reengage to secure the ashtray.

Wow... that lighter part was not easy to remove.. From what I did after so many times trying.. lift straight up, there no reason to move forward.. Just straight up and it came right now. That is the hardest plug to remove on the center console.
