Issue with COMAND when using Spotify

I’m wondering if anyone is having a similar issue to the one I am having. When I play Spotify on my iPhone X through the USB port, I have an issue that happens randomly. If I use the round knob and spin it (slowly, to skip one song at a time or if i spin it quickly to skip a few songs), my music lowers for .5 seconds, goes silent for .5 seconds, plays the same Spotify song for .5 seconds then cuts to iTunes and starts playing the first song in my iTunes library. The only way to then go back to Spotify is to go on my iPhone X and reopen the Spotify app. I have tried this on several other iPhone X’s and iPhone 6’s and have the same issue. I’ve reset my system & been to my local dealership multiples times (for software updates & testing) but they haven’t found anything. Any suggestions or anyone experiencing something similar please let me know! I had 2- 2015 C300 Sports & 1- 2015 C300 and never had this issue before.
