Hi here
I'm new on MBWorld and i'm happy to join us
I have an 2015 C400 and i look for order an Dinan Sport for add litle more power has stock. My car is also in warranty with extra plan + service plan for 4 years
Before order it, i would like to know if my CAR is under warranty is safe to use it ? (I know it exist an Dinan Elite for respect WARRANTY by Dinan)
Another question, i have service plan with MB, and i would like to know if is correct to REMOVE the piggyback before go to the DEALER for Service or Warranty request and it see nothing at dealer ?
Thanks,

Unfortunately you won’t find a straight forward response. My understanding is if the dealer wants to dig, they’ll be able to figure out whether you’ve used a piggyback or not. It’s at their discretion whether they want to dig deep into it. With regard to warranty, if the dealer can prove that an aftermarket product DIRECTLY caused something in the car to malfunction, they can void the warranty for that specific component of the car; it does not void all warranty. I’m curious to see- of the people that decided to add a Dinan piggyback, how many have had issues that were the DIRECT result of adding said piggyback, and whether their warranty claim was voided. I’d think the number is low, but who knows. As someone has said in another post: you gotta pay to play. I don’t know if the risk is worth the little gain

Under Federal Law - a ECU tune only negates the warranty of the ECU itself - and you advise dealer when you check in for service so they don't accidentally erase it with a factory update - it can get "tricky" on a piggyback ONLY if you don't remove the piggyback BEFORE you go in for dealer service - dealer service is NOT required if you have recommended factory service done on schedule by a indie and you keep those service records if ever asked.
