2010 Merc C250
Time to move from dependable W204 to W205?
I've been fortunate to own and drive my 2010 C250 4matic for the past 6 years, only ever taking it to the garage for servicing and tire changes. I'm now tempted with the move to something more powerful and have seen decent deals on the w205s' C400 and C450. Clearly some ownershave reported issues with tranmission and cabin noises. However I'm wondering if this is just the minority of owners these problems affects. If I look at the W204 forum, owners seem to report their fair share of problems too.
General consensus, are the W204 and W205 comparable in terms of long term reliability? Would love to see the stats from a merc dealorship lol

You tend only ever really see negative issues in forums, as a rule people don't make posts sayaing "my car's great, nothing to complain about". From my experiance, I had a 2016 C250 Estate until 2 months ago, I had no wind noise, rattles or transmission issues at all. I did have the engine fail completely, however MB replaced under warranty and gave me a loan car. I've since replaced it with a 2018 C43 Coupe, which is perfect. I can't fault it at all. It is fundementally the same as the C450 and it is fast, really fast. I think you'll be blown away by the diferences when you upgrade.

I am pretty happy with my car. I purchased a 2015 C300 in december 2017. So for I had the trunk latch replaced under warranty, Blind spot sensors brakes installed (missing from factory...) and an Auxiliary Battery fault message fixed. Everything was under warranty. The standard warranty is now expired, and I have the extended Mercedes warranty for the next 2 years.
My biggest purchase was an extra set of winter wheels, and a spare wheel from mercedes because I don't want to keep using run flats.
