2017 Mercedes-Benz C300, 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC300

Digital instrument cluster weird design

Can somebody give a reasonable explanation as to why Mercedes chose to shift the speed increments in the new digital instrument cluster design?
1. Note the increments from 0-60 vs. 60-260.
2. The 60 mark is positioned where the 100 mark would be on most classic analog displays.
3. According to google images the C63 AMG digital dash does not seem to have this odd design.

Please note that this is km/h not mph.

Saab did this on it's 9-3 and 9-5 models for safety reasons, as it's the usual speed range and you can have a better and precise reading.

search for Saab gauges on google and you will see it.

I have Saabs and it looks odd, but it works. The range between 0 to 140 km/h also it has bigger numbers than the rest as it's a "compressed" scale.
