Power Stop Rotors and Pads

At 20k the front rotors on my 2015 C300 warped. The dealer would not warranty the replacement. After talking with Eric at Power Stop brakes he suggested that I try their rotors and pads because the factory rotors are a two piece design (the disk is pressed on to the hub) whereas the Power Stop rotors are a one piece design. This design reduces rotor warpage (of course you must bed the new pads to the rotors after installing them). I was very impressed with the quality of the rotors and pads and will report back on their longevity. You can purchase them at RockAuto.

Careful! I was thinking of getting aftermarket brand name pads especially because of the huge amount of brake dust the original pads generate. However, the brake pressure generated for emergency autonomous braking, brake assist and the adaptive cruise control braking are all calculated by the onboard computer using the friction coefficient of the factory brake pads and rotors. I wouldn't risk using anything else than genuine brake parts since only a few feet in braking distance can make the difference between stopping in time and thousands of $$$ in damages. Think twice!

I am currently using the powerstop pads on all four corners. I haven't had to change my rotors as of yet (I currently have 52,000 miles). I suspect this is just due to my driving style because they aren't warped or excessively worn. I will tell you that the power stop pads work well and basically generate no dust, however, they definitely do not have the same stopping power as the OEM pads. That having been said i'm still happy with them but blizzard12 gives a good reminder to anyone looking to switch.
